To Amy's Killer, On the 26th Anniversary

It's time to come in.

You've lived with what you did for 26 years, now. Every day you remember it. It sneaks up on you wherever you are, whatever you do, and you fight to put it away, again. That's no way to live. What quality of life can you have when it's always on your mind? You can do good things, but they will always be tainted by what you did to Amy Mihaljevic, in 1989.

Amy's family needs closure. They've asked for it for 26 years. The best thing you can do in this life is to give that to them.

Call me. I'll get you a lawyer. We'll help you surrender. We'll find you a nice, warm place with three square meals a day and you can spend 20 years there. You're still young enough that you might enjoy freedom, with an unburdened soul, again one day.

If you wait for the police to come for you, you will go to a rough prison and you will sit there until you will be executed.

And they will come. One day, they will come. They have your DNA. And while you've stayed clean since this murder, and you know they have nothing to match it to, one day that DNA will give up your identity. Last year, scientists invented a new device that allows police to feed a DNA sequence through a computer that targets markers that determine how a face is formed. It gives them a picture of what your face looks like. Better than any composite. They will do this. And soon.

Give yourself up while you can still negotiate your terms. Do it, today.

I checked your book out of the Medina library. I noticed you touch upon a satanic angle. Given the date of Amy's abduction, is it possible that her murder was a Halloween sacrifice?
