Could April Tinsley's Murder Be Connected?

Yesterday, a reader pointed me to the unsolved murder of 8-year-old April Tinsley, and there are enough similarities between this crime and Amy's to merit some study by police, I think.

April was abducted on April 1, 1988, while walking alone near her family's home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A jogger discovered her body three days later, lying in a ditch in a nearby rural township. Like Amy, police believe April was killed at a different location before being moved to the ditch. Like Amy, she had been sexually assaulted but redressed by her killer. April was missing a shoe. Amy's boots were never found.

Fort Wayne is a 3 1/2 hour drive from Bay Village.

Police believe whoever killed April left a taunting message scribbled into the side of a barn near where the girl's body was found and may have also authored taunting letters delivered to girls in 2004.

We know at least one top suspect in Amy's murder was roaming the countryside in 1987 and 1988, taking odd jobs where he could find them. And he was retiring around the time the letters appeared in 2004. This same suspect went to great lengths to not be fingerprinted, too.

Here's some good news. Fort Wayne police likely have April's killer's DNA. Perhaps it's time we compared that sample to the samples taken from suspects in Amy's murder in 2006.

I hope they find the sick person who did this and get justice for these girls. April lived down the street from me and was my friend and I've been praying for years that she gets justice she deserves. These girls are with God now and I just pray He will lead the police to their murders. Rest in peace beautiful Angels.

Has anybody ever thought of the babysitter killer from Oakland county, Michigan? It was said that Bob Moore may have taken part in the crime. April Tinsley is my cousin. I googled a pic of bob moore. I think he looks similar to the sketch of Aprils killer. Somebody on another site mentioned the name andrew ellman. Went to highland park high school. He can easily be found on facebook if you search for him. It was said that he bragged about committing crimes. And that he has numerous houses across states

Really wish someone would look into this. Too many similarities to ignore.

Not sure if you noticed, but the letter in the side of the barn seems to be similar to the “A.M was murdered here” written in that house that was posted recently.
